We support children with a range of complex needs. We are fully committed to the inclusion of all children and their families and to making sure every child is valued as an individual.
We provide a broad and balanced curriculum which follows the Early Years Foundation Stage but is appropriate for each child’s abilities and individual needs. We put a strong emphasis on developing the children’s communication skills, their personal and social development and their physical skills.
We have a an experienced team of staff to support children with special needs, they work in partnership with parents and professionals to ensure children make the greatest possible progress.
Children with special needs are included in all nursery activities with the additional staff deployed to support them as necessary. Where appropriate children can be supported in smaller groups for story and singing sessions and the nursery has a sensory room and a sound proofed room which can used for specific language, listening and attention work. We use signs and symbols to support the inclusion and development of everyone at nursery.
